Admissions

We understand that choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions parents and carers will make. We invite you to find out more about us by:

  • Contacting the school office to ask any questions you may have and to arrange a tour.
  • Having a telephone or online conversation with our Headteacher, Mr Alun Randell.

Reception Admissions

Hemington Primary school is part of Somerset's Coordinated Admissions scheme for parents/carers applying for a child starting school in Reception in September. All applications for admissions must be submitted to the Local Authority (LA) by the published closing date. The LA will forward all applications to the school and the Governing Body will rank all applications against the admissions criteria. The list will then be returned to the LA under the coordinated admissions scheme and they will make a single offer of a place on the published date.  Apply to start school for the first time: click here

'In - Year' Applications

Applications for 'In-Year' admissions (i.e. other than children due to start Reception in September) are made directly to the school. Please contact the school to arrange a school visit and to request an application form: office@hemingtonprimary.co.uk

Hemington Primary school is an Academy and part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership, and as such the Governing Body is the admissions authority. Our governing body applies the regulations on admissions fairly and equally to all those who wish to attend the school.
