Xmas Craft and Gift Fair
You are all invited to our Xmas Craft & Gift Fair this Saturday 26th November from 2pm – 4pm. We have a varied selection of craft stalls including jewellery, cards, perfume and flowers amongst many others. Just the occasion for purchasing that special Christmas present.
There will also be a tombola, raffle, cake stall and refreshments run by the staff and parents of the school. We would be grateful for any contributions you could make to the stalls such as bottles, boxes of chocolates/biscuits, toiletries or anything else you think would be appropriate. Please bring all contributions into school by Friday.
Don’t forget to come along and bring your friends, relatives, neighbours and anyone else you know.
A Christmas Cracker
A great fundraiser has been organised for Friday 2nd December (8.00pm till late) at Writhlington School. Dance the night away to “The Corporations” covering music from the 50s to the present. To enable us to stock the bar could you please complete the attached ticket order form and return to school tomorrow so that we have an indication of how many people would like to go. Tickets are £5.00 per person. Your support and that of your friends and family will be appreciated.
Carols On The Green
This will take place on Thursday 8th December. Come and join us in Faulkland Village Hall and enjoy the usual selection of yuletide favourites, led by members of Street Salvation Army Band. No fundraising, just a lovely event. Christmas can’t really be said to have started until Carols On the Green has happened!
Bags 4 Schools
Our next collection for ‘Bags 4 Schools’ will be on Tuesday 13th December and bags to fill will be sent out shortly. Please start collecting any quality second hand ladies’s, men’s and children’s clothing, as well as bedding, curtains, soft toys, shoes, belts and handbags. All items are for re-use. No bric-a-brac thank you.
Our popular Christmas lunch will be held on Wednesday 14th December at a cost of £3.75. This will be a traditional meal of roast turkey served with bacon, sausage and stuffing, roast potatoes, peas and carrots. A nut roast will be available for vegetarians and chocolate log with ice cream will be served for dessert. An order form for the Christmas lunch will be sent out early next week.
The Governors have employed Jo Finch for an additional day per week until the Easter half term. This will enable me to spend Wednesday afternoon meeting with the children to talk about their progress at school and to deal with critical school development plans. Each child will individually meet with me every 4 weeks. Details of how we will cover the teaching of each subject will be distributed next week.
and finally.. a reminder that the school will be closed on Wednesday 30th November.
